So what do you guys think? If it came to a showdown. Could NATO and her allies push out the Russians in a conventional show down. I think so. I know this wont happen. Ukraine is not part of NATO.

I say let them have it. The people there seem to want to be a part of Russia anyways. Our govt always seems all pro democracy and voting until it doesn't go our way. In a conventional war I imagine we could damage russias military. but this isn't Iraq or some 3rd world country we can just roll over. this is the big winner of WW2.A country that lost 20 MILLION men in combat.thats not even including civillians.theres no way we would be able to conquer and hold Russia. Can you imagine the current soft spoiled generation of kids fighting in the Russian winter for months at a time? (not that we don't have any good young people but overall I mean). Our people would never tolerate loosing millions of Americans over Ukraine. now if Russia eventually attacks a nato country and we get drawn into it,I imagine we would beat them back to their morders and make peace. We aren't going to be rolling into Moscow. look at it this way. in WW2 Germany had 150 or something divisions on the eastern front. We had what 3 in Iraq? and it was such a drain on our military and gear.We are no geared up to fight a massive world war

It would be awesome to see a small conventional conflict , were NATO gets involved. Just to see what our M-1 Abrams and our APACHES can do to T-80 tanks and HIND E attack helicopters. Sort of what happened in the early 80.s with Argentina and England over the Falklands. I say we can whup them.

the apaches aren't as indestructible as we all thought. In Iraq we launches some huge attack with them and the Iraqis shot them up pretty bad.most of them got back to base but they where damaged big time.Reading a book called :the march up" about the 1st Marine division in Iraq right not. Apaches are obviously army but it was still in the book.

I say let the Ukrainian people make their own decisions. We can't even take care of ourselves and we go about the world telling everyone else how to conduct the affairs of their own country. They voted to go with Russia and NOT the EU (or private central banking where debt can never be paid off... Sound familiar?).
As gas as conflict goes... The dollar is weak on the world stage. Our military has been weakened due to endless conflict round' the world. Manufacturing is all but gone here in the good ol' U S of A (thanks to the guv.). I don't think it'd be wise for the new socialist/fascist regime to challenge the old socialist regime.
Just my meaningless $0.02.
