Ok I see where you're going with that. I assume that those runner wheels are going to be mounted under the suspension arm when fully fabricated?

Here is a picture of the real tank showing the area I am working on: Here is another pic of what I am doing: Here is a pic of the real tank being restored, showing the area I am copying:

wow that looks very heavy. Are you afraid you will be overweight. At least for the horsepower?

wow that looks very heavy. Are you afraid you will be overweight. At least for the horsepower? The real tankette was 16 hp/ton. That is about what my power/weight ratio will be. You are right - it is heavy. My friend has a tank that is 1,800 pounds and works really well on a 14 hp engine.

Is that power to rate ratio pretty much a standard because if it is that is some mighty good information to know. And by the way that looks complicated but very cool. Cudos to you on a great build so far!

Cudos to you on a great build so far! I just wikipedia some tanks and see it is fairly common. Even take the M1 Abrams - I see about 25hp/ton. M4 Sherman, about 15 hp/ton. Tiger tank around 13hp/ton. Just my observation - not an expert.

I started welding the front bracket parts together. Note, the weld you see in the previous picture is a special inner bracket that I made up to help keep things aligned - it is not part of the real main bracket.
